Achievements are important unlockables in the game IMSCARED that are needed to get the final ending of the game's Steam/2016 edition. There are 11 (real) achievements in total, though you only need 10 achievements to get the final ending, because that's where you get the 11th achievement.

The game also likes to use fake Steam achievement popups as a way to creep out the player. You can clearly see this, when you suddenly get two overlaying Steam popups. One of them is the real achievement, while the other is a fake one. An easy way to spot a fake achievement is having the game in fullscreen or at least 2x window size.

The First Key[]

The first Key

The First Key can be obtained by picking up the first key under the table in the Begin level.

Peek-A-Boo[]

Peek-a-Boo

Peek-A-Boo can be obtained by looking through a hole in the wall in the room from the second door on the right in the basement. You should be able to see White Face's room, or at least a small replica of it. You must wait a few seconds before you stop peeking to get the achievement.

Master Tag[]

Master Tag

Master Tag can be obtained by marking all of the arrows on the floor in the Car Park. A sound cue will play, indicating that you marked them all.

Not To See[]

Not to See

Not To See is given if you appear in the Not To See area, the area between the fake ending and the House. This area has a ~50% chance of occurring so if you don't get it the first time, you'll have to go through the game again (without resetting). You might have to walk around a bit before getting the achievement.

Heaven's Door[]

Heavens Door

Heaven's Door can be obtained in the House, after entering the room marked "2".

The room (and the rest of the house) should turn into flesh like in the room where you get the heart in the Begin level. Before entering the next door, go to the left of the curved line of blood on the floor. Try interacting with the wall until you get the achievement "Heaven's Door". A knocking sound effect will play each time the player interacts with the "door".

Game Ended[]

Game Ended

Obtained by getting the second fake ending, aka completing Chapter 1. After entering White Face's Room for the second time in the house, you will be able to get the achievement "Game Ended" and a popup will appear telling you to quit the game. This is, however, not the end yet.

Peek-A-TWO[]

Peek-a-Boo

Same as the Peek-A-Boo achievement, however, this time you need to look through the hole in the wall after the Labyrinth. This time around, the HER Grave will be visible by peeking in the hole.

It is also possible, likely due to a glitch, to get the achievement seconds after Peek-a-boo by simply moving away and back to the hole you got Peek-a-boo in.

Don't touch me[]

NoImg256

This is a fake achievement in the Parlor, obtained while returning after solving the puzzle in the cellar. Moments before the achievement disappears, its image will change twice.

Close Here[]

Close Here

In the Parlor you need to, while you get chased by HER, to close the game while standing on the carpet in the Green Room. The achievement will appear every single time the player steps on the brown carpet.

This achievement does not exist when viewing the achievements in steam, but a fake steam-styled prompt will appear in the game.

Thanks For Staying[]

Thanks for staying

In the Labyrinth, go to the second secret path shown in realone.html. Instead of going right to get the key for the gate, go left until you encounter a white humanoid hanging by its leg. Press E on it and the atmosphere will turn dark. Wait a few seconds to get the achievement. Pressing E on the humanoid again will let you continue.

Lucky Tickets[]

Lucky Tickets

When at the Metro section of the game, change the time of your computer to match the "home" and "work" times written on the wall. Each of those should give you a ticket and with both of those you get the achievement.

Game HEnded[]

Game HEnded

Obtained by killing HER, aka completing Chapter 2. The player receives this after shooting HER six times with a revolver in the Grave level. After succesfully killing HER, the player is transported back to the Parlor. Go to the balcony, and through the previously inaccessible door. The screen will fade to white, before granting the player the achievement.

Loneliness[]

Loneliness

Obtained by completing the game, by finishing Chapter 3. In the Door Room, which can only be accessed if you have every other achievement, go through the door to start the door ending and go into the Final Begin room. White face will ambush you several times, closing the game, and skipping the menu upon relaunching, to ambush you and close the game within seconds, but will eventually just stop doing that and expose its heart. Delete it, rename it, move it, do whatever. Once you do, the game will close, and you'll receive the achievement upon reloading. Once you restart, you will have acquired the true ending of IMSCARED. The darkness is gone, and White Face is completely absent (as well as its room and some other rooms being inaccessible).

Preserve and Flip[]

*image*

An achievement only in the Workshop Edition (Demo of 2016 version). The player gets this achievement after going into the room with the backwards "Where was she pointing at?" message in the corridor with the multiple doors.

Survived The Crash[]

*image*

Another achievement only in the Workshop Edition. This achievement will be unlocked, once the player meets HER in the balcony of the Parlor, and re-opens the game after the crash.

Unlike other achievements, this one actually has a description. All it says is: "Survived the first crash".

Trivia[]

  • None of the achievements have normally visible descriptions.
  • If you use white.ini to go back to a previous area, the fake achievements will still pop up when doing something "achievement worthy".

FakeAchievementExample

Example of a fake achievement. This one is notable, as the name of the achievement is off-center.
